Full Spectrum Doula
I am the mother of a wonderful child that God gave me. I am a Full Spectrum Doula for Labor & Postpartum, also in abortions, Certified in ASSD. Giving birth is the most beautiful moment for a woman; it is magical, uncertain, incredible, and real for life. It is a combination of feelings that come together and that bond of love is born that is unique, true, and unmatched; it is the love of a mother. I like to give myself to my clients, my support is constant, I also like to give them their space so they can enjoy this time that belongs to you as parents, you should enjoy it. I maintain my solid, calm attitude in challenging circumstances. It is important for me to be in continuous learning, to stay up to date with the progress in order to provide effective support.

Military Veteran, Father of 6
Born and raised in the heart of Queens, my connection to this borough runs deep. As a teen, I experienced firsthand the challenges of childbirth, welcoming my first child into the world right here in Queens. Over the years, I've expanded my family to include six wonderful children, giving me a unique perspective on the maternity and birth processes. My experiences span public, military, and private hospitals across three different countries, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse landscapes of maternal care. What became strikingly clear in each of these experiences, despite my presence, was the overwhelming burden placed on mothers. This realization fueled my passion to advocate for change and led me to join the board of Birth By Queens. I am committed to working towards a future where every family receives the support and care they deserve.

Reproductive Health Advocate
Nahiyan Taufiq is a passionate reproductive health advocate with a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. With a strong foundation in public health, Nahiyan has dedicated their career to advancing sexual and reproductive health education, policy, and access—particularly for underserved communities.
Her journey into reproductive health began during college, where she served as a health educator, driven by a deep belief in the power of education to help youth and adults make informed, autonomous health decisions. This early experience set the tone for a career rooted in community care and reproductive justice.
A former contact tracer for the City of New York, Nahiyan has worked on the frontlines of public health crises while continuing to champion reproductive rights through policy research and advocacy. She has lobbied for progressive legislation, including a bill that would have required California public colleges to offer medication abortion on campus, and has volunteered as a clinic escort, providing compassionate support to patients in need of care. In addition to this, Nahiyan serves as the Communications and Advocacy Associate at South Asian SOAR, a national organization dedicated to ending gender-based violence in South Asian communities.
Currently, Nahiyan is inspired by the groundbreaking work of Birth by Queens, a birthing center that centers autonomy, informed decision-making, and culturally grounded care for birthing people. Their long-term vision includes expanding access to community-rooted, affirming reproductive care and eliminating health disparities in maternal and sexual health, specifically within immigrant and South Asian communities.
